What is Warzone Movement?
Call of Duty Warzone is unlike any first person shooter made. Sure, it has game elements like customizable guns, looting , and the battle royale format. However, one thing separates Warzone from any other first-person shooter, movement. No longer are you able to survive solely off of gun skill and map knowledge. Warzone has taken the level of competition to a different level. They have added movement mechanics that can really separate the good from the great. To have the upper hand on your opponents and win more gun fights, better movement is something you want to incorporate. So, in this article, I talk about 4 Warzone movement techniques that will get you ahead of your competition.
Drop Shotting
What is Drop Shotting?
Drop shotting is when you’re in a gunfight, and you drop your character to the ground while still shooting. When you drop shot you are engaging the enemy and making yourself a smaller target at the same time. That’s what makes drop shotitng effective. Drop shotting maybe the simplest to perform, but it is still a very important weapon to have in your movement arsenal. To perform a drop shot all you have to do is hold down the crouch button while you’re aiming down sight. This move is useful in-particularly when you meet someone in close quarters unexpectedly. Those one or two bullets missed because you hit the deck can be the difference between living and dying.
Bunny Hopping
What is Bunny Hopping?
Bunny Hopping is a movement technique that allows you to make yourself a harder target to track. Bunny hops can be very effective when a player is overly aggressive, or are camped in a building. If someone is hard scoped on a angle or doorway a bunny hope can make you hard to track.
Snaking
What is snaking?
Snaking is when you find yourself behind a piece of cover and crouch up and down to gain more insight on the opponents position. The key to this technique is constant movement. Players typically will throw in some left to right movement in conjunction with up and down movement to make themselves a difficult target. The cousin of snaking is “shouldering”. Shouldering is similar to snaking, but it’s more focused on left to right movement. Players typically use shouldering to peek around corners without making themselves a fully-exposed target. Using these two movements together in battle will allow you to gain crucial information about where your opponent is, and how to engage with them. There’s nothing more nerve wrecking then plating behind cover not knowing if the other player is pushing you. With snaking/shouldering it allows you more information to make better decisions.
Dolphin Diving
What is Dolphin diving?
The newest addition to the COD movement repertoire, dolphin diving. Dolphin diving performed by fully tact sprinting and diving head first. This animation can be used a few ways, most of which are to evade gunfire. When moving around the map being sniped at, the easiest way to avoid a headshot is dolphin diving. By dolphin diving you are making yourself a harder target. Another way I use dolphin diving is to get to cover. If you’re be shot and nearing cover, dolphin diving is the equivalent to diving for home base in baseball. The final way I use dolphin diving is to catch the opponent off guard. Diving through a doorway can give you the advantage if your enemy isn’t expecting it. Dolphin diving is the lastest addition to Call of Duty movement, but that doesn’t make it any less useful.
Conclusion
Movement is one of the most important elements to help you become a better Warzone player. If you take the time to master these 4 techniques, I promise you’ll see significant improvement to your game!
